REMIX (2-Days - Thursday and Friday, July 5 and 6)
Choose Monday-Tuesday, Thursday-Friday, or all four days! REMIX will offer 4 classes daily (water games/open swim, multi-sports and games, art science and team building). Come ready to have FUN! Wear appropriate clothing, gym shoes, pack your swimsuit and towel – be ready for anything! Campers will be grouped according to grades and rotate to a different age appropriate activity. Campers will need to bring sunscreen, two snacks, lunch and beverage in a non-breakable container or water bottle. Instructional program runs 9:00AM - 3:30PM. Optional Kids Club (before and after camp, 7:30AM - 6:00PM) is included in the fee.
MULTI-SPORTS & GAMES: Skyhawks Multi-Sport and Games program is a compilation of our favorite childhood recess and gym class activities. Participants will play Kickball; Capture the Flag, Dodge Ball and Frisbee Golf. In addition to learning the proper techniques and rules of these sports and games, the children will be taught life lessons through sports. This will include the importance of Sportsmanship, Leadership and Respect for their opponents, coaches and officials.
WATER GAMES (ON LAND AND IN THE POOL: Skyhawks takes getting cooled off to a new level! Campers need to bring or wear their swim suit and bring a towel. We will be playing a variety of water games on land where participants will learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership all in a safe environment. If time, open swim will follow.
COOL AND SIZZLING ART SCIENCE: This is a unique camp where children will explore art and science at the same time. There are many different ways to experience art and a lot of it involves science. This camp will inform children about hot and cold temperatures. They will explore and experiment creating art with heat and cold sources and learn about science using color. Presented by Kathy Segal.
TEAM BUILDING: Being part of something larger than yourself and working toward a common goal is important. Team building camp will collaborate in a variety of games and activities that encourage cooperation and fun. Teams of campers may build bridges, boats, egg car seats, catapults, and towers using strange and unusual materials. A variety of team based activities will encourage self-esteem, communication skills, critical thinking skills, and developing strong working relationships with others. Children can often have a difficult time working with others. This class will get individual children to work as a cohesive team. They will be challenged to collaborate to achieve various goals set by themselves and their instructors. Presented by Rick Maldonado.
