Southern Michigan Obedience Training Club (S.M.O.T.C.) offers this foundation obedience class for all dogs who are at least 6 months old. Learn how to train your dog to heel (walk) on lead with you, sit, stand, down, stay, and come when called - to become a more enjoyable member of the family. Shot records are required and must be presented the first night of class, but please DO NOT BRING THE DOG THE FIRST NIGHT OF CLASS. Minors over the age of 12 are invited to train as long as a parent or guardian is registered for the class and remains in attendance during class. Please bring to the first class your filled out Application for Training and Health Certificate, which will be emailed to you; extra forms will be available in class. For the remaining classes you will need to bring a bait (treat) bag or fanny pack with SOFT TREATS, a slip collar (a.k.a. choke chain), Martingale or prong/pinch collar with a 6 ft. leash (leather leash recommended) as well as your dog. Please note that the dates for this class have been changed (after the Fall 2017 Community Education brochure was published). Due to construction, the class will begin (and end) two weeks later. The correct dates are October 3 - November 21.
